Halo Discs for Disc golf
Halo discs are discs with a very special effect in the plastic where there is an outer ring or "halo" in a different colour. Halo discs are particularly popular with players who want to have some extra cool discs in their bag. The halo effect is purely visual and does not have any particular influence on how the disc flies. There may be slight differences in disc stability, but no more than is known across plastic types.
Innova Halo Star and many more
Discs in Halo Star plastic from American Innova have long been popular and are the most famous halo discs. Halo Star from Innova consists of Innova's star plastic in two different colours. Many other brands also make discs with a halo effect in the plastic, and you will therefore find various Orbit versions from the Trilogi brands and Horizon discs from Discmania .
How are Halo discs made?
Halo discs consist of two different colors of plastic or two different types of plastic which are injected into the disc's mold one after the other, so that one type or color lies right at the edge. It requires that the manufacturers' molding machines can handle several different injections into the mold for the same product. It is a slightly more complex way of producing the disc, which is why you often see that Halo discs are more expensive than regular discs.
