Jonas Pärtma

Playing since: I’ve said for about three years that I’ve been playing for around ten years – not entirely sure. I became a PDGA member in 2016.
Best disc golf memory:
One of my first strong memories was from the Amateur Tour in Söderhamn. A par 4 where I had about 65 meters left from the fairway. The shot had to fly straight and hook right at the end.
I threw a backhand with my blue Aviar. It flew perfectly straight and glided beautifully through the air. Halfway there it slowly started drifting right, past the dangerous trees on the right side and landed in the bullseye.
A beautiful throw in my eyes. I didn’t even know a disc could do that in my hands. I think that was when I truly got hooked on the sport. I still have that disc.
Wish I had known earlier: That there is no single correct way to throw. As long as you have control, your technique can look however you want.
Best advice: Par is good.
Go-to discs: A worn Aviar-X if I can reach the basket. Otherwise a worn River or Wraith for some extra distance.
Go-to putter: The same worn Aviar-X.
Goal for 2026: My main goal is always to have fun. I want to improve my putting and develop a forehand I can use when needed.

Andreas Melin

Playing since: 1991–1992
Best disc golf memory: Winning the World Doubles Championship 2023 in Flagstaff, Arizona after four playoff holes against Jay “Yeti” Reading and his partner.
Other highlights include playing nine holes with Paul McBeth at Järva, hosting a barbecue at my home with Simon Lizotte and Avery Jenkins, Spain Open in Oviedo and every day at Ale Disc Golf Center.
Wish I had known earlier: How big the sport would become – then I might have taken it more seriously instead of just playing for fun.
Best advice: Start competing right away. There are divisions for everyone and you learn much faster.
Go-to disc: Teebird
Go-to putter: Special Edition Soft Rhyno
Goal for 2026: Improve my nose angle, become better at putting, have fun and win a medal at Master SM.
